I'm Matt Ward. I've been building for the web for more than 20 years, and I started KK Web Co. to do the work I love most: small-business websites that look sharp, load fast, and bring in customers.

The name

Named for Kendra.

KK Web Co. began in a hard season. My oldest dog, Kendra, passed away at the same time I felt a strong pull to get back to front-end development, the craft on which I'd built my career.

Building again gave that season some direction, and it felt right to put her name on it. The studio is named in her honor, and the paw at the center of our logo is hers.

She's a daily reminder of how I want to work: loyal to the people I build for, honest about what a site can and can't do, and always glad to see you. Kendra set a high bar.

The builder

A front-end developer who thinks like a data scientist.

I've written front-end code through every era of the modern web: hand-coded table layouts, the move to CSS, the jump to mobile and responsive design, JavaScript frameworks, and today's AI-assisted tools. Twenty years of that teaches you what lasts. Fast pages, clear writing, and a next step the visitor can't miss matter more than any trend.

I also work as a data scientist in Big Tech. That work shapes everything here. I don't guess at what's working. I measure calls, form fills, bookings, and search visibility, and I use those numbers to decide what to change next.

Why Downtown Albuquerque

Local search works block by block.

A lawyer near the courthouses, a restaurant on Gold Avenue, and a venue by Civic Plaza all compete with businesses a short walk away. The one that wins the phone search usually wins the customer.
